The types of output capacitors recommended for linear regulators are listed in the datasheet, but what are some factors to be aware of when using an output capacitor that's not recommended?
If the capacitance value and ESR are within the safe operating area, it can be used regardless of type. However, please note that electrolytic capacitors are generally susceptible to large variations in ESR and capacitance with temperature changes. And because the safe operating area will differ depending on the product, check the datasheet.Related Link:Technical Document
