Automotive MCUs(32bit)ML63Q8000 group is equipped with a Hardware Linkage Controller (HLC) unique to LAPIS Technology, which enables peripheral linkage operation without software processing. It is capable of detecting errors faster than software processing and high-precision sensing, and is capable of driving external components without software processing.
This contributes to realizing high-precision control and sensing while keeping the cost-increase of the edge-side MCU for ECU.
It also supports high-speed communication protocol CAN-FD and can support ASIL-B of functional safety according to ISO26262.

This LED control unit (LCU) is designed for versatility and seamless integration. It features a multi-channel LED control system for enhanced lighting performance, along with 4V DCDC converter and 5V LDO to provide external electronics (e.g., for animations). Communication with the vehicle is simplified through a single CAN_FD interface, and the local CAN network can be accessed via UART over CAN. Additionally, a LIN interface is included.

EV2W_LCM-EVK-A05 is the reference design that uses ROHM automotive LED drivers for EV Two Wheelers (TW) lighting application. The solution is integrated with Speech IC Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS). Devices used in the design are automotive grade. The reference board will enable users test operation and evaluate performance characteristics of the Head Lamp, DRL Driver (BD18354MUF), Tail Lamp Driver (BD18347AEFV), Turn Indicator Driver (BD18327EFV), Animation LED Driver (BD18333EUV) for automotive lighting applications.
